The 480B Guardian is outfitted with the latest in police technology including a front mounted Gyrocam® IR camera, a digital video recorder/monitor system and SX-5 search light “Visiting the police and sheriff departments throughout the country is the best way to publicize the fact that we have a very competitive turbine aircraft for the police patrol mission.” said Enstrom’s President and CEO, Jerry Mullins. “During 2005, we visited over 40 police and Sheriff Precincts and over 70 police pilots had the opportunity to fly the Guardian.”

The 480B is powered by the Rolls Royce 250-C20W turbine with 420 shp rating. De-rated to 305 shp for take-off and 277 shp continuous. Significant de-rating allows hot and high operations at gross weight. The particle separator removes 93% of dust, sand or foreign objects in the air intake extending engine life.
